It is almost impossible not to go to Legian or Kuta if you come to Bali. This famous area have become a-must-visit destination for its beaches, shops, and culinary. I always like to stay around since all the things can be reach by walk! Yes, Bali is super damn hot but it is cost-less if you can use your feet. Besides, the tiny Legian road has a bad traffic almost all the time. So walking become the best option over all.
During my vacation to Legian recently, I stayed in Siesta Legian Hotel, located at Jl. Bunut Sari. This hotel included to one of those 14 properties managed by Avilla Hospitality. Siesta is actually a re-branded hotel but it’s slightly different from the previous one. The new management has re-modeled all of things including the concept, services, to facilities. Siesta Legian Hotel designed to be family oriented with amenities and environment appropriate for kids.
During my visitation, the hotel was not that crowded like any usual hotel in Legian. The staff was friendly and check in process also quick enough. You’ll also get a welcome drink of rosella tea, brought to you during the check in. Other thing you’ll find around the lobby such as a nice photo booth wall, computer station, spa (right beside the reception), and a direct connection to swimming pool and restaurant.
CLEAN AND COZY ROOM
I got a superior room at the third floor with a view direct to pool. Once I entered the room, it reminded me A LOT with typical of Surabaya’s budget hotel. The room was not that big. It has a nice color wall-pepper, made it looks clean and cozy. Other facilities at the room including a refrigerator, water heater, LCD TV 27″, hot water, and high speed wifi. What I like the most was the large window they have, made the room get enough sun shine during the day. But at night, it’s a bit dark since the room only has small lamps.
The air con worked really well, it was super chill at night. The room also completed with a long table so it’s not only comfortable for leisure, but also business. Overall, it was simple but answering the needs.
YUMMY RESTAURANT: BREAKFAST AND ALL DAY DINE IN
Yummy restaurant is the only restaurant at the hotel, located at the first floor, north side of the lobby. It was semi-open door restaurant with a small swimming pool right beside. Yummy has a minimalist interior and could fit more than 50 people in the room. They also has a playground in this area for kids to play with.
Breakfast was standard serving halal food with menu vary from Western to Asia, such as; sausage, salad, porridge, vegetables, rice, toast, and croissants. They also have open kitchen for ordering fresh omelette and sunny side up. I had my breakfast at 7.30am and the breakfast situation is not that crowded. It’s enjoyable since you could have your breakfast in peace.
Giving another dining experience to the guest, Yummy also available for all day dine in and room services with menu choices from Asian to Western. They have not much choices for the menu, especially desserts. I got to taste some of their recommendations, one of them is this classic homemade Spring-roll, consists of rice vermicelli and vegetables. What make it a bit different is a twist of curry on the taste. Completing the flavor, the four pieces spring rolls accompanied by sweet and sour dipping sauce.
Three Seafood Combination was served for my main courses. A plate of grills consisted of three favourite seafood all the time; tiger prawn, squid, and tuna, accompanied with sauteed vegetables and lime turmeric sauce. The concept of the dish was actually good but unfortunately the squid was chewy and sauce was a bit lack in taste. I enjoyed the tuna and tiger prawn though.
What made my day refresh at the moment was this Banana Foster! The bowl was simply delicious with caramelized banana in cinnamon sauce and three killers ice cream flavors; chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry. Additional crushed cashew nuts just gave another nutty and crunchy touch to the sweets.
OTHER AMENITIES: SWIMMING POOL AND SPA
The swimming pool is located in the restaurant area. It was small and suits more for the kids. Lounge chair also available but only two of them, placed in narrow space beside the swimming pool. I am not recommend this swimming pool for adult. Besides, there were not much sun for sunbathing going tho the poolside. But for you who wished to swim, don’t worry because the hotel has a FREE shuttle car to Kuta beach (say horray!).
And for pampering yourself after all of tiring activities during the day, Devana Spa is ready to welcome you for massage and other body treatments. You can find the spa right beside the receptions but make sure to book the services first since they have a limited room.
Here are several questions that you probably wanna ask and I gave my best to give the informative answer to you.
