“Food works like magic. The cook create recipes with a story behind and put their heart to make it happen on the plate. Good food is not just a food, but it has a soul. And it is a job for food writer to capture the soul, write it into a story, and tell the world about it”.
Vania Valencia David
Hi, my name is Vania, owner and content writer at theculina.com. It has been a year since I started to chase my dream in culinary and honestly, it was a big decision in mylife. After I achieve my bachelor degrees on August 2015, I decided to follow my passion in cooking by entering a culinary school in Surabaya. Between my classes, I worked as a cook in one of fine dining restaurant. One day, I got an insight to build a platform about how fun the culinary world is. And here it comes, theculina.com 一 an humble website telling its story about foods.
It started with only 10 visitors at that time but when there is a will, there always be a way. With my strong dedication and passion, the website started to grow by the time from 10 to 100 and 1000. Within a year, it finally hits it’s 1.000.000 views.
A good website not only focus on its traffic, but also on its good contents. This is what I applied for theculina.com. Started by sharing a piece of home cooking recipe, I expand my writings to travel and hospitality reviews for restaurants, bar, and hotel. I only write what is worth to read for my readers and share what is good for others.
My traveling instincts lead me not only to write about culinary in Surabaya. This year, I decided to travel and capturing more stories. Currently, I stayed in the Island of Gods, Bali and planning to explore more cities in Indonesia, even aboard. At last I hope you could enjoy this blog as much as my love to share it with you!
